What is Team Superman?

In 2005, at age 13, Matthew was diagnosed with a rare, malignant brain tumor known as a mixed germ cell tumor. For the next year, he underwent an intensive course of treatment. Envisioning him as Superman, overcoming all obstacles in his path, gave us hope through that difficult time.

In 2007, thankful for his recovery, our family organized Team Superman to raise money and awareness for childhood brain tumors. Since then, with the support of our friends, family, neighbors, classmates, and colleagues, Team Superman has raised over $50,000 for children's brain tumor research.
